Twice a year, avoid alcohol for at least 21 days—ideally during a cleansing or fasting program. Bitter substances stimulate liver function and can be found in many vegetables, fruits, and herbs. Bitter drops or liver detox teas are also helpful.
Here’s a recommended herbal tea blend (from your local pharmacy):
A warm liver compress with a hot water bottle or herbal pillow can soothe and support detox. You’ll need a small towel, a large towel, and a filled hot water bottle. Moisten the small towel, place it over your right upper abdomen (below the ribs), then apply the hot water bottle and cover with the larger towel. Best used daily for 30–45 minutes during a detox program.
